You know the saying, ‘lovers come and go, but friends stay forever’?
I think whoever came up with that is a ridiculous idiot.
Right, maybe that’s too harsh. Apologies. Let’s just say I have a feeling that if we met, we wouldn’t connect very well. We certainly don’t have the same way of thinking. There are three reasons why I wrote what I wrote:
First, s/he believes that friends and lovers are essentially different from each other. That’s discrimination. One that is widely accepted and practiced, regrettably enough.
Second, s/he thinks that friends would never drift apart.
Third, if he is aware that friendship does wane at some point and thinks that the word ‘stay’ is still suitable to describe that state… well, clearly he’s in desperate need of a better dictionary.
In any case, ew, see what happens if you read academic papers in place of artistic writings? My writing is definitely not improving and may very well be worsening.
I think it’s becoming dull.
